3rd Millennial Summitt in Wilmington, DE
DuPont Global Supplier Diversity participated at the Millennial Summit on August 7 in Wilmington DE and joined colleagues from other organizations to talk about business opportunities on a panel and then in round tables for more direct interactions with Millennial business owners.
The Millennial Summit is the regions premier experience where young professionals, impact players, rising stars and innovators come together to connect and grow.This is year three, with 1000+ attendees from 18 states and it was a success.
Luis Concepcion shared a panel discussion with Supplier Diversity and Economic Development leaders; Michelle Morin (Corteva), Raul Suarez-Rodriguez (Merck), L Jay Burks, PhD (Comcast), Isabel Krome, and Beth Pomper. In addition, what a great way to end the day, by connecting with Governor John Carney (DE) to discuss Economic Development and Inclusion matters.
NMSDC Leadership Awards
Team DuPont joined the National Minority Supplier Development Council Leadership Awards , celebrating the achievements and accomplishments of supplier diversity leaders, suppliers and fellow corporate members.
On May 16th, the 2019 National Minority Supplier Development Council Leadership Awards recognized the dynamic corporate executives, minority business owners and NMSDC affiliate council presidents for outstanding leadership that has a positive impact on their companies and resonates throughout the NMSDC network.
The NMSDC advances business opportunities for certified MBEs and connects them to corporate members. To meet the growing need for supplier diversity, NMSDC matches its more than 12,000 certified minority-owned businesses to a network of more than 1,750 corporate members who wish to purchase their products, services and solutions.
WeConnect Forum 2019 - Mexico
On June 13th, the Latin America Supplier Diversity team hosted the 4th Supplier Diversity Forum in DuPont Mexico in partnership with WeConnect International, organization that seeks to support the integration of suppliers associated with diversity groups as part of DuPont´s commitment to inclusion and social responsibility.
More than 40 Women Owned Business companies affiliated with WEConnect International attended the event, as well as others belonging to diversity groups and they had match making sessions with suppliers, buyers and main stakeholders to offer their products and services and evaluate new business opportunities.
At the opening, Claudia Jañez, President of DuPont for Latin America, spoke about her professional experience and the importance of women's empowerment: "My personal commitment is to develop talent and support the growth of Mexico" she said.
WEConnect International Corporate Members Meeting - Brazil
We continue our journey to expand our Supplier Diversity Program Globally by partnering with WeConnect International in Brazil !
This meeting on July 26 aimed to foster knowledge exchange, clarify doubts and discuss challenges and opportunities regarding the theme of Supplier Diversity in Brazil. This time, the meeting took place at Procter & Gamble's office in Sao Paulo and was attended by representatives from DuPont, Corteva, Dow, Google, Procter & Gamble, Bayer, Citibank, MSD, Camis and SAP.
Minority group members are United States citizens who are Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American. Ownership by minority individuals means the business is at least 51% owned by such individuals or, in the case of a publicly-owned business, at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more such individuals i.e. the management and daily operations are controlled by those minority group members.

A Women’s Business Enterprise, commonly referred to as a WBE, is an independent business concern that is at least 51% owned and controlled by one or more women who are U.S. citizens or Legal Resident Aliens; whose business formation and principal place of business are in the U.S. or its territories; and whose management and daily operation is controlled by a woman with industry expertise.

A Veteran Business Enterprise, commonly referred to as a VBE, is an independent business concern that is at least 51% owned and controlled by a veteran (having served in the active military, naval or air service and was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable). A LGBT Business Enterprise, commonly referred to as an LGBTBE, is an independent business concern majority (at least 51%) owned, operated, managed, and controlled by an LGBT person or persons who are either U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. The Business must exercise independence from any non-LGBT business enterprise, have its principal place of business (headquarters) in the United States and has been formed as a legal entity in the United States.

If you are considered a small, disadvantaged, woman owned, veteran, service-disabled veteran or HUB Zone business and are not registered with the SBA Pro-Net database, please visit the SBA Central Contractor Registration (CCR) site to self-register. Registration is requested in order for us to identify your company within our subcontracting database and to be certified by the SBA criteria.
